TMI Alert II: An Update on Kristyn's Stats

So as of this afternoon I am 90% effaced and 3-4 cm dilated. We asked about how big Jillian is right now and the Nurse Practitioner said it was tough to say but she would guess about 5-6 lbs. She said she was measuring a bit small, but her head seemed really far down (oh goodie!) and so they ordered an ultrasound for next week to see how big she really is. That's if I make it to next week...

Another possible TMI: So late at night when I have to empty my bladder I climb out of bed and toddle over to the bathroom. I'm tired, uncoordinated and it's dark. I end up swaying back and forth for the 10 or so steps to the door. I swear I have to look like the mayor from Nightmare Before Christmas. If you've seen the movie, you know what I mean. Jason teases me now and calls "Oh, Jack," in the mayor's voice when he sees me toddling!

Dinner With The Lewkos

Grandma Pam and Aunt Abbi brought us dinner on Monday. (Poor Uncle Taylor was sick at home.) We had yummy tacos and a delicious strawberry sundae pie. Thank you!

Busy Sunday

We kicked off the morning with coffee and pastries (yay breakfast of champions) outdoors at our local shopping center. Jason and I are trying to sneak in little dates here and there. Though is it a date when you bring your stinky little dog?
Jason's first project was installing the car seat base. We bought a seat protector to put under the car seat. It has a few pockets in the front that should come in handy. The seat fits great though I think it will be interesting for a shorty like me to get it out once she's in it. I'll have to build up my arm muscles. It's funny but I have no concept for reading and following directions right now. Jason has to do everything and then teach me!

My main project for the day was laundry! Jillian has so many clothes and burp cloths and blankets and I finally started washing everything. Thank you Grandma Pam for the industrial sized Dreft! I still am in a quandary over organizing her items. I think I have moved everything around 10 times or more.
Our top two priorities of the day were Packing and Pediatricians. We finally got around to packing in early afternoon. I tried to fit it all in a small duffel bag but it really wasn't working. The yellow blanket in the photo is from Jason's Aunt Bev. We're bringing to the hospital to wrap Jillian in but it won't be her blanket. It's actually for Brody so that he can smell her scent before he ever meets her. We haven't chosen a pediatrician but we managed to narrow it down. Jason is going to call this week for more information.

I was exhausted at the end of the night and just wanted a Slurpee and some couch time. Jason had one more project he worked on: shellacking (is that a real word?!) the mural. It is now ready to be hung over her crib!

TMI Alert! Kristyn's Stats

So for those of you in the pregnancy know I got some of my stats at my last doctor's visit. I am 80% effaced and 2 cm dialated. Jason and I were taken by surprise especially when Dr. Ellis began joking about being on duty at the hospital this weekend! We rushed off to Babies R Us that evening to gather some last minute items. Of course, she may still be several days or weeks away. My official due date is still November 15th. Here I am, literally 5 minutes ago. What do you think? Give me your guesses!

The Glider/Rocking Chair

Jim and Paula Bess gifted us with this beautiful glider. Jason put it together and is modeling it.
Here is the room thus far. We still have a little bit to go but it looks more and more put together every day!

Wicked!

Pam took Jason and I to see Wicked last Sunday, October 19th at the Pantages Theatre in L.A. The theatre itself was gorgeous. There were carvings and paintings all over the ceilings and walls. The show was everything I had hoped for. The singing was amazing and the costumes and sets were so elaborate. I think Jillian must have liked it too. She was pretty active that day! We also visited Jason's great-grandmother in Commerce, CA and went to dinner that evening at Las Brisas in Laguna Beach. It was a wonderful, wonderful day. Thank you Pam!

Can you guess what Kristyn is pretending to be?

You guessed it.... a rocking chair!

The Dresser Is Finished!

Hey everybody, this is Jason! My first post on our blog! I've been working on getting Jillian's dresser ready for a while now but finally after sanding, multiple coats of paint and shilac, and some new flower decorations and knobs (whew!), it's finally ready!

Our Little Skeleton

This is from Ron's birthday a couple weekends ago. How cute is my nephew?! His pjs glow in the dark and of course his dad had to get out his Surefire flashlight to get the glow going. I can't believe how big he is.

The Mural Part III

Here is the almost completed mural. Mom spent another several hours with me on Saturday shading in sections (I called it "The Joy of Shading") and outlining. Now we just need to apply a clear coat to protect the paint, attach the moulding and hang.
