Let's Make Some Noise (So She Can Sleep)

This video is from last Saturday when Jillian crashed after her traumatic pictures at JC Penney (to come later). We were a little excited she was sleeping.

Dance Party USA

Jillian loves to dance in front of the mirror. It has become somewhat of a pre-bath ritual. Jason or I hold her upright on the bathroom counter and she stomps her feet. It really is too cute. She loves to smile and talk to the baby in the mirror.

My New Toy

I have been debating for 3 months about whether or not to get a stroller frame for Jillian's carseat. Each time I think it's too late and we don't need it. I had to take her into the doctor on Monday and that was it. Trudging up to the doctor's office and back I decided I needed it. That night I found one on Craigslist and on Tuesday I went and got it. I have only had a trip to Jimbos but so far I love it! Brody kept Jillian company after we got back from Jimbos.

Happy Birthday Grandma Pam

Friday, February 20th was Pam's birthday. She still came down to watch baby Jillian on her birthday. What a loving grandma!

Pam and her best friend Donna.

Great Grandpa Mike and Great Grandma Treva spend some time with Jillian. Great Grandma Treva loves to hug and squeeze her great-grand baby.

"Things I love About Jillian", By Her Dad

  • She has fuzzy bird hair.
  • She is so serious sometimes!
  • She has the cutest pudgy cheeks.
  • She would put the whole world in her mouth if she could just get it there.
  • She even has wrinkles on her knees.
  • She loves blowing bubbles.
  • She makes herself smile in the mirror.
  • She smiles and then looks away like the lady in the new Geico commercials.
  • She hates changing her clothes but loves being naked.
  • She is very interested in ceiling fans.
  • She either loves car rides or hates them... no in between.
  • She now seems to only like being held facing out.
  • She gives the best smiles first thing in the morning (which she definitely didn't get from her dad).
  • She won't sleep past 6:30AM (regardless of how late she goes to bed).
  • She likes music and loves to dance.
  • She can fit her whole fist in her mouth (or at least pretty close).
  • She can have ten facial expressions within a matter of seconds.
  • She makes me feel more important then I've ever felt and helps me to appreciate life in ways I've never been able to before.

Jillian At 3 Months

A collection of images of Jillian on her 3 month birthday, February 17, 2009. Blogger is being weird and won't recognize that these have been rotated. I still loved them so I kept them.

First Forays With The Bumbo Seat

Jillian has been holding up her head very well so we decided to give the Bumbo seat a spin. She looks so cute in it. We've already broken the golden rule of not putting her on an elevated surface. I'm sure once she gets a little bigger we won't be able to do that.

Mommy Tastes Good

As I have mentioned, Jillian enjoys sucking on all sorts of things including mom and dad. Jason captured Jillian going to town on my fingers.

I'm A Baby Einstein Copycat

Ron and Sarah lent us Ethan's Baby Einstein Activity Gym. I've been meaning to put it together for awhile but things always got in the way.

I saw that Gabby had Ava on this same mat and I thought, "I really have to put this together." So I got the pieces together; some were in the garage, some in her room, some downstairs.

The first time we put her down she was cranky which does not bode well for any activity besides mom and dad holding her. The second time she liked it a lot more. Daddy even played with her.

I was so excited to post her pics when I saw Marie's post with Emma on her Baby Einstein mat.

So I guess we are officially Baby Einstein Copycats!

Our Funny Valentine

Jillian came down with a cold (and cough!) on Thursday. Poor thing will get sudden coughing fits. I ran out Thursday night to buy a warm steam vaporizer (BTW, a little tangent if I may: Purchased from Babies R Us for $20. Thought it was a good deal. Then on Saturday I saw the SAME one at Target for $13.50 AND in Target's ad today humidifiers are 10% off. Grrrr.... I HATE paying too much. What burns me is that Target is right next door to Babies R Us.) The vaporizer seems to help. The first night she went 7 hours between feedings! We are still bringing her in her bathroom and doing a hot steam shower at least once a day. I hope my baby will feel better soon!
So with her cough we decided not to go out on Valentine's Day. We still dressed up - well, Jillian dressed up. Jason and I stayed in our pjs. Thank you Cousin Ethan for Jillian's dress and Grandma Joy for her bib. It was a nice day nonetheless. After Jillian went to bed, Jason picked up dinner and we opened a bottle of Asti. We watched a couple episodes of The IT Crowd, a British sitcom (so funny!). There was no where I would have rather been.

The Pooh Garden - Don't Laugh Jason!

The Pooh Garden is a tummy time toy from Grandma Pam. When we first tried to put Jillian on right after Christmas her head was too heavy. She could only look straight down. It was really very sad. Now our strong girl can lift her head higher and keep it there.
She still isn't too interested in the images and toys. She tried kicking her feet but couldn't really move around on her own (the center spins). Daddy helped her move around but she got tired before she made one full rotation.

Pink Teddy

Not exactly lingerie, here's our little pink teddy.

Bath Time With The Lewkos

Grandma Pam and Auntie Abbi stayed late on Friday to have dinner with us, watch Rain Man (which I had never seen!) and give Jillian a bath.

Jillian still likes her bath. She sits there peacefully as we wash her. Sometimes she'll kick her feet in the water. And lately she has taken to sucking on the washcloth if it gets near her mouth.

Jason gets a huge kick out of Jillian's slicked down hair.

My First Week Back At Work

Dropping Jillian off with Grandma Pam for her first day away from me.

Discovering my decorated office.

Monday, February 2nd was my first day back at work. We had a last minute change of plans and so she spent Monday with Grandma Pam up in Oceanside. I knew she would be safe and happy but I still cried when it was time to leave her. My coworkers gave me a wonderful reception. Brian decorated my office and Kay got me flowers. Though it was tough to leave her, it was nice to be back. I am juggling pumping with my normal tasks but have this awesome pumping bra so I can have hands free while pumping. Overall I really enjoy having "adult time" at work.

I will be working from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays and this week was pretty successful. Jillian slept for much of Tuesday morning, allowing me to complete several tasks. Grandma Joy watched her on Wednesday and then Grandma Pam again yesterday.

Oh How I Have Missed You

Not blogging for a week has been very tough! Jason showed me how to load photos on his computer so I finally have some fun things to blog about.

After meeting Tia Marie in Del Mar last Thursday, and then running errands, Jillian stayed asleep long enough for me to snap this photo. She's not great at sleeping in her carseat once we get home. Sometimes we get lucky but she usually wakes up just as we're settling down to eat or sleep.
Thank you Gelvins for this tribute to Tahoe bib. Jillian has begun to chew on her pajamas (and fists and whatever else she can find). Between that and occasional drool I have to put on a bib now.

I love this tummy time photo. I wish it wasn't blurry. Jillian is becoming more accustomed to spending time on her tummy but she still doesn't last too long.
